Dr. Robert DiSilvestro
Robert DiSilvestro grew up in Long Island, received a B.S. in biochemistry from Purdue, and obtained a Ph.D. in biochemistry from Texas A&M. He went back to Purdue as a faculty member for five years. Then, he worked at Ohio State for 29 years. He just retired in August, 2018 as a Professor of Human Nutrition. Now, as an emeritus professor, he remains involved with OSU in research and product commercialization. Dr. DiSilvestro’s early research examined the biochemistry and physiology of metalloproteins. Later, his work shifted to human responses to dietary interventions and nutraceutical supplementation. He currently runs three startup companies that are developing products based on his research. He has also given talks and done writing on the relationship of science and theology.
