Dr. Jonathan W. Picking

Dr. Picking is currently a biology instructor with the Center for Life Sciences Education at OSU. He completed his BS in biochemistry at Ohio State, during which he played trumpet in the Ohio State University Marching Band. He also met his wife, Shannon, through the Cru freshman Bible study in Taylor Tower. Jon remained at Ohio State for his PhD work, also in biochemistry, while Shannon completed her DVM. When his teaching schedule allows, he continues to study enzymes involved in microbial single carbon metabolism with his former dissertation adviser. The Pickings live with their two pugs and their smallest biology student/son, Henry, who just celebrated his third birthday.
