Dr. Peter VanDerPuy

Dr. VanDerPuy is currently a lecturer in the departments of History and Classics, teaching courses in the world of antiquity and its literature. He obtained Master's degrees from Cardiff University and Oxford University in the UK, before earning his PhD in Ancient History at Ohio State. He specializes in the history of the Roman Republic and his current scholarship deals with ancient agricultural communities, warfare, and the environmental problems that farmers encountered in the pursuit of sustainable agriculture. Originally transplants from the Tacoma/Seattle area, Dr. VanDerPuy and his wife, Sam, now live in Grandview and enjoy calling Columbus their home.
