Dr. Joy Walton

Dr. Joy Walton is an Assistant Professor of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at The Ohio State University College of Medicine (OSUCOM) and Nationwide Children's Hospital (NCH).

A native of Columbus, she completed both her undergraduate and medical degrees at the Ohio State University. She then relocated to upstate NY for residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at the University of Rochester Medical Center, completing her training in 2011. After a brief stint in Texas, she returned home in 2013 where she now works part-time as an adult hospitalist with OhioHealth and a primary care pediatrician at NCH, caring for children and adults with complex medical needs.

As a faculty member, she enjoys helping medical students navigate a career in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics while finding work-life balance. She has been the recipient of the Quality of Care award in 2016 and is also a member of the Antimicrobial Stewardship and Ethics Committee, where she serves as co-chair.

Dr. Walton lives in Westerville with her husband and 3 children.
