Dr. Greg Bixler

Dr. Greg Bixler, Ph.D., P.E., is a mechanical engineer with a background in product development with graduate research in micro/nano self-cleaning surface technologies using inspiration from nature (aka biomimicry).

A three-time alumni of The Ohio State University (OSU), he also co-founded the humanitarian engineering nonprofit organization called Design Outreach (DO). Dr. Bixler teaches engineering courses at OSU, including appropriate technology for developing countries.

He started his engineering career at Battelle Memorial Institute where he managed interdisciplinary teams of engineers working on a variety of R&D programs. His endeavors have led him to 19 countries—all while serving as CEO of DO, resident director for the OSU service-learning program, and advisor for the OSU humanitarian engineering student clubs.

In his free time, he serves as an elder in his local church and as chaplain for Grace Brethren Boys. He and his wife have three kids.
