Prof. Angie Burks

Prof. Angie Burks is a Senior Lecturer within the College of Engineering. She has presented at the state and national level on engineering ethics and the legal liabilities of electronic communication. In 2016, Burks was the only OSU College of Engineering lecturer to present to over 200 engineering managers and directors at the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers continuing education conference. The topic was Emails as Legal Evidence and Mechanical Failures within Toyota. In 2017, she presented Teaching Engineering Ethics Through the Case Study Method at the American Society for Engineering Education national conference.

Prof. Burks has been nominated twice for OSU’s Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer and three times for Indiana University’s Trustees Teaching Excellence Award. Her Negotiations course within Northeastern University’s distance learning program has been delivered to over 800 executives and graduate students in four regions of the world including Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

A graduate of the University of Michigan, Boston University School of Law and a former Community Builder Fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government, she notes that the most valuable experience in her life was growing up in the Sunday School program at Second Baptist Church in Columbus, Indiana.
